Estimated Compensation: Base salary starts at $43,000, but top performers in this role typically earn between $75,000 and $100,000 per year.
 
How do our Used Vehicles Buyer Drive Impact?
Our Used Vehicle Buyers work the General Managers and General Sales Managers at the dealership to decide on inventory and acquire the vehicles to fulfill the inventory.  Some of the responsibilities would include:
Work with Inventory Manager to establish a plan for desired inventory 
Discuss and set inventory stocking levels with Inventory Manager 
Acquire vehicles for inventory via online or live auctions 
Monitor alternate purchasing sources and find new sources monthly 
Review and make any necessary corrections to status/lot locations in Tekion 
Set up reconditioning plans on all purchases 
Facilitate transportation of all purchased vehicles 
Manage ReconTRAC and make approvals or adjustments as necessary 
Collaborate with the Pricing Analyst to confirm accurate pricing  
Inspect the overall quality of vehicles returning from the Reconditioning Center 
Communicate any repair concerns with Recon GM/Used Vehicle Director  
Must wear safety eyewear at all times when in dealership service departments 
Must wear hard-toed shoes and slip resistant footwear in when in dealership service departments

We're Looking For:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age 
  • Must have the ability to retain crucial information regarding the retail/wholesale vehicle market 
  • Must be able to make detailed financial decisions within strict timeframes 
  • Proven organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, handle frequent interruptions and shifting priorities 
  • Demonstrated strong and effective oral and written communication skills 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
